Dorothy M. White

DOROTHY M. WHITE, age 96, formerly of Eaton, OH, died Wednesday December 28, 2005 at the Brethren’s Home in Greenville, OH where she has lived since November 4, 1993. Born on March 3, 1909 in Preble County OH, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S. & Mary Viola Estella (Everding) Parks. She retired as a Floral Desinger from the Floral Royal Greenhouses in Lewisburg, OH which she and her late husband Earl owned and operated. A 1928 graduate of the Monroe High School at Eldorado, OH; former member and piano player at the Zion Lutheran Church near Eaton, OH; member of the St John’s Lutheran Church at Enterprise near West Alexandria, OH; former employee of the Indianapolis Glove at Eaton, OH and the Perfect Circle in Richmond, IN; she had been active in planting and caring for the flower beds at the Brethren’s Home for the residents to enjoy for several years. Preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. White, whom she married on April 25, 1931, in May of 1994. Son: Donald Lowell White in 1999. Daughter: Marilyn Louise Poos in 2001. Half brother: Joseph Henninger. Step sister: Naomi Henninger Roan.

Survived by former daughters-in-law: Carrie J. White of Trotwood, OH and Mikki White of Dayton, OH. Former son-in-law: Dale Poos of Eaton, OH. Half brother: Von Henninger of Greenville, OH. Grandsons: Michael A. White and David B. White. Great grandchildren: Justin White and Kayla White.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at 1:00p.m. at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Ronald Shreffler officiating. Interment will be held in Zion Cemetery near Eaton, OH. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 , one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
