Dorotha L. Swihart

DOROTHA L. SWIHART, 87, of Eaton, Ohio, died Friday, July 24, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on November 30, 1921 in Monroe Township, Preble County, Ohio, daughter of the late Union B & Jennie (Duvall) Rowe. She was a 1939 graduate of Eaton High School and had worked for the Preble County Recorder for several years. She was a Twin Township farmer alongside her husband, Ralph E. Swihart, who died in 2006. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brothers, Donald C. Rowe in 1971 and Lloyd W. Rowe in 2005.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, William E. & Beverly Ann Swihart of Marion, Ohio, Thomas L. Swihart of Chino, California, and John E. & Brinda Swihart of West Alexandria, Ohio; sister, Hilda May Wilhelm of Eaton; grandchildren, Amy L. (Jeff) Craig, Krista M. Swihart, William Eric (Alyson) Swihart, Anna M. (Jeff Ober) Swihart, Jeff A. (Dawn) Swihart, and John M. Swihart; great grandchildren, Brendan Swihart, Evan & Katie Craig, Ayla & Brielle Swihart and Lilah Ober; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 27, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, Ohio 45320, with Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Interment will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery near West Alexandria, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
