Doris M. Smallwood

Doris M. (Knox) Smallwood, 97, of New Paris, Ohio, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Born on November 16, 1926 in New Paris, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Olis and Anna May (Hankey) Knox.

Doris was a homemaker and lifelong caregiver to her husband, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School and a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband of 62 years: R. Charles Smallwood in 2009; Son: Randall A. “Randy” Smallwood in 2016; Siblings: Beatrice “Bea” Lawrence, Phyllis Irene Delk Turner, Miriam L. Brown, Robert C. Knox, and Richard L. Knox.

Survived by her Children: Steve (Kathy) Smallwood, Rick (Denise) Smallwood and Kevin (Andrea) Smallwood; Daughter-in-law: Mary Smallwood; Grandchildren: Lisa (Rick) Wright, Amy (Tim) Ringenberg, Lorie (Cary) Bishop, Mark (Kelly) Smallwood, Melissa Smallwood, Michael (Jennifer) Smallwood, Stayce (Ryne) Robinson, Brian (Nichole) Smallwood, and Courtney Smallwood; 13 Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Paul E. “Gene” Knox and Carol (Wayne) Bowen; Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Interment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
