Doris Jean Harrod

Doris Jean Harrod, 80, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brookville, Ohio. She was born on July 30, 1935 in West Alexandria, Ohio, daughter of the late Emanuel Melvin & Katherine Evalena (Howard) Brewer. Doris was a 1953 graduate of Lewisburg-Union High School and was retired from K-Mart in Englewood, Ohio where she was an Office Manager and Bookkeeper. She was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, Eastern Star #293, VFW Post 975 and the Lewisburg Lions Club all of Lewisburg; Fraternal order of Eagles #2202 of Eaton, Ohio, the American Legion Post 360 of New Paris, Ohio; Moose Lodge #534 and the United Ancient Order of Druids both of Richmond, Indiana.

Doris is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Harrod in 1998; second husband, Lowell D. Hamiel in 2010 and her sister, Betty Campbell in 1998.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Kim Harrod of Lewisburg and her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Rich Hapner of Columbus, Ohio; grandson, Peter Hapner of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Melvin Brewer of West Milton, Ohio; nieces and nephews and special friends, Georgie, Mary and Charlene.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday with Eastern Star Services at 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home.
