Donald Weist

Donald Weist, age 89 of Eaton, OH died Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton, OH. Born on October 3, 1920 in Camden, OH he was the son of the late James & Orva (McDonald) Weist. Don was a 1939 Camden High School graduate, W.W. II Army Air Corps Veteran and had been a lifelong Preble County farmer. He retired from Sheffield-Bendix in Dayton, OH. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton and a 4-H Advisor for Somers Township. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan. After returning from the war he married Ruth (Thomas) Weist who died in 1967; In 1968 he married Lois (Conn) Weist who died in 2007; brother: Jim Weist in 1979; sister: Annabel Bullen in 2009 and grandson: Paul Weist II in 1980.

Survivors: Daughters: Janet (Kelly) Brown of Ft. Collins, CO; Elaine (Kenny) Kolb of Eaton, OH; Charlene Weist of Camden, OH and Joanna (John) Clippinger of Eaton, OH; Son: Paul Weist of College Corner, OH; Granddaughter: Stephanie (Chris) Risner of Eaton, OH. Brother: Joe Weist of Carlisle, OH; Sister-In-Law: Ethel Weist of Eaton, OH; Grandchildren: Karen (Kip) Hamilton, Nancy (Robert) Shaver, Ty Brown, Amber (Mitch) Parker, Stacy Weist, Kate Clippinger and Dorothy Clippinger. Great Grandchildren: Arica, Kendale & Kolby Hamilton, Grace & Caleb Risner.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Barnes Funeral Home – 220 East Main Street – Eaton, OH with Rev. Steve Cann officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, OH. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
