Donald R. Helriggle

DONALD R. HELRIGGLE, 85, of Miamisburg, OH died of a broken heart, Thursday, October 21, 2010 at his residence. He was born on February 26, 1925 in South Zanesville, OH son of the late, Charles Reese and Hazel Martha (Ziegler) Helriggle. Donald was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and was retired from Ohio Bell in Miamisburg, where he was a lineman for 32 years. He was a member of the Pioneer Club of Ohio Bell and a lifetime member of the Communication Workers of America; Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marilyn E. (Love) Helriggle who passed away in February; grandson, Clayton Helriggle in 2002; brother, Emmet Helriggle; sisters, Dorothy, Mabel and Bonnie.

Survived by his son, Michael W. (Sharon) Helriggle and daughter, Susan E. (Rick) Cummings; sister, Evelyn Bryan; grandchildren, Harley (Amy) Helriggle and Heather Cummings-Moore; great grandsons, Timmy Moore, Jr. and Chase Helriggle; nieces and nephews, Starla(Mike) Merkle, Marilyn(Roger) Smith, Marcia(Jim) Martin, Judy(Bill)McDaniel, Sandra(John) Kesig, Jack Bookwalter and Donald Bryan; "adopted" grandkids, Erin Routson and daughters Kendall & Rylee, Jess Shul and kids, Ethan & Gabby and Virginia Dyabla and daughter Joselyn.

The family would like to thank Dr. Heckman and the Hospice of Dayton Home Care for their exceptional and gentle care.

Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Fairview Cemetery, 503 South, West Alexandria, OH. Military Honors will be provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12: 45 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, OH.
