Donald F. Mason

Donald F. Mason, 85, of Eaton, Ohio, died, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his residence. He was born on June 24, 1932 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Fred R. & Lillian Alberta (Mendenhall) Mason. He was a 1950 graduate of Monroe High School in Eldorado, Ohio and worked in retail for most of his life. He was the former owner of the Deem Insurance Agency in Eaton; was a member of the Preble County Art Association and the Preble County Council on Aging. He attended the First Baptist Church and the Eaton Baptist Temple both in Eaton.

In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his second wife, Doris B. Mason in 2004; son David Mason in 2008.

He is survived by his wife of 32 1/2 years, Lucille P. (Riege) Mason; sons, Paul Mason of Eaton; step-daughter, Sue Gunderson of California; brother, Jan D. Mason of Eaton; sisters, Sunnye Jones of Eaton, Laverna B. Layland of Orlando, Florida and Yolanda Bethel of Lebanon, Ohio; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, 1308 N. Maple St., Eaton, OH with Pastors Andrew Stensaas and Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Preble County Council on Aging, 800 East St. Clair St., Eaton, Ohio 45320.
