Dennis M. Acton

Dennis M. Acton, 70, of Lewisburg, OH, died Friday, August 17, 2018 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. Born on June 26, 1948 in Dayton, OH, he was the son of the late Joseph P. & Hazel Marie (Guerrant) Acton, Jr. A 1966 graduate of Twin Valley North High School in Lewisburg, Dennis was retired from GTE where he was a lineman and mechanic for over 25 years. He also worked as a mechanic in the water division for Crown Equipment in Vandalia, OH. Dennis served the Verona community as an instructor and member of the Verona Fire Department, where he was the Chief for many years. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with his family and friends.  

In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by his brother: Douglas P. Acton, Sr. and his sister, Diana Gordon. 

He is survived by wife of 48 years, Linda R. (Lane) Acton; son, Michael Acton and daughter: Rebecca Strange; granddaughters, Alexus and Brooke; nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David O. Justis officiating.
