David Leroy Watts

David Leroy Watts, age 78, of Lewisburg, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20, 2024.  Born on July 11, 1945 in New Paris, Ohio, son of the late Orval & Margaret (Hackman) Watts.

David graduated from Jefferson High School in New Paris, Ohio in 1963.  He had worked for over 40 years at formerly Lutheran Social Services now known as Graceworks at Bethany Lutheran Village in Centerville, Ohio.  He volunteered at the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio. 

David served as President on the Village of Lewisburg Parks Board for many years.  Past President of the Boosters & Past President of Little League Baseball in Lewisburg.  He coached Little League Baseball and was a referee for Soccer. 

Member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg, Ohio where he had served on the church council.  He also attended the First United Church of Christ in Lewisburg.

Preceded by his sister, Emily Ebersole.

Survived by his wife of 55 years, June E. (Eley) Watts; son, Jason D. Watts; grandchildren, Tanner, Sawnie, Austin and Logan Watts; sister, Shirley Drook; special brother-in-law, Alan (Kathy) Eley; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; beloved dog, Charlie.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor David Justis officiating.  Interment will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, Ohio.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Thursday prior to the service.
