David L. Ferriell

David L. Ferriell, 90, of Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton. Dave was born on January 18, 1921 in Luverne, Minnesota the son of the late Joseph & Florence (Mannigel) Ferriell. He was a 1939 graduate of Jackson High School and was a W.W. II Marine veteran. In 1975 he retired from N.C.R. Corporation in Dayton after 30 years of service. Member of the Visitation Catholic Church in Eaton; American Legion Post 215 of Eaton and in 2006 he was Inducted into the Preble County Athletic Hall of Fame for basketball. Preceded in death by his wife: Mary Alice (Sherer) Ferriell in 2000; brothers: J. Jennings Ferriell in 2002 and Merlin T. Ferriell in 1992; sister: Helen Jordan in 2009.

Survivors: sons & Daughters-in-law: Ronnie & Paula Ferriell of West Carrollton, OH; Tom Ferriell of Eaton, OH; Mike S. & Kathy Ferriell of Brookville, OH and Andy A. Ferriell of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; brother: Alton Ferriell of Eaton, OH; sister: Jean (William) Stamback of Eaton, OH; grandchildren: Jeannie (Hank) Barnard, Kimberly (Randy) Poppell, Andrea, Allyssa, Eric and Adam Ferriell and Rochelle (Chad) Watkins; great grandchildren: Ariel, Jasmine and Trinity Poppell; Avery Watkins and Bryson Barnard.

Funeral mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Visitation Catholic Church with Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, OH.
