David E. Scott

David E. Scott, age 70, of Lewisburg, OH, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, OH. Born on May 23, 1940 in Knox County, IL son of the late Forrest J. & Ethel I. (McNaught) Scott. David served with the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. He received a B.S. Degree in Political Science and Business from Southern Illinois University. Retired from the H & H Sales and was currently the Mayor of the Village of Lewisburg serving his second term. He had served on the Lewisburg Village Council for several years. Current President of Lewisburg Area Chamber of Commerce; Member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Lewisburg; Lewisburg Historical Society; Preble County Republican Party Central Committee; Lewisburg Christmas Tree Light Committee; Dayton Area Red Cross volunteer & Disaster Relief Team; Refereed area high school basketball games for many years and was a soccer, softball and basketball coach and Wright State Softball Coach.

Survived by Wife of 48 years: Joyann (Middleton) Scott; Daughters: Cassandra Pego & friend Jeff Fiedler of MN; Karen Scott-Pine & Jim Pine and Aimee & Brian Kral both of Clayton, OH; Cheryl & David Keely of Louisville, KY; Sisters: Sybil Scott and Myrna Scott both of IL; Nephew: Eduardo Scott of IL; Special family members: Scott & Michelle Gebhart; Grandchildren: Jessica Gebhart, Aiden Pine, Nolan Pine, Ethan Kral, Emma Gebhart and Mackenzie Gebhart.

Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 511 North Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. Brent L. Cavendish and Pastor Robert E. Jones officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the church.
