Danny G. Witt age 73 of Camden, Ohio died Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Dayton Veteran’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Danny was born on February 22, 1948, in Richmond, KY. He was a 1966 Camden High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War receiving the Bronze Star. Member of the Camden VFW Post serving as the Quartermaster for several years; Camden American Legion; Eagles Lodge in Eaton, and the DAV in Hamilton, OH. He retired from Square D in Oxford, OH after over 32 years of service. He was a talented guitarist in various bands from the age of 14. He played in the town of Camden for many years and many weekends at his young age. He had also played in various locations all of his life with bands such as Georgia Clay, Sunlite, Rio, Silvertones, Nitecruzer and many many more. He knew several famous musicians during his life. He spent time trail riding, horse showing and camping with the horses. He belonged to the Preble County OHC and Butler County Saddle Horse Association.
Preceded in death by father: Edison Witt; Stepmother: Virginia Witt; mother: Melva (Davidson) Parsley; stepfather: Fred Parsley; stepbrothers: Eugene Bratcher & William Bratcher.
Survived by his wife of 42 years: Deborah Kay “Debbie” (Boyle) Witt; Children: David C. & Heather Witt of Middletown, OH; Miranda E. & Corbin Zickefoose of Cincinnati, OH; Megan D. & Paul Shadle of West Chester, OH; Blessed with 4 grandchildren: Caitlin Witt, Ada Zickefoose, Allison Zickefoose and Corwin Shadle; two step grandchildren: Jamie Zickefoose and Dalton Sizemore. Sisters & brothers-in-law: Irene & Gary Ross, Geneva & Bill Dillon, Allene & Nat Robertson and Joyce & Jon Bowman; Brother & sister-in-law: Rick & Leeann Witt.
A celebration of life service will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 22, 2021, at Northside Chapel 6820 North Main Street Camden, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Barnes Funeral Home 220 East Main Street – Eaton, Ohio and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, Ohio with the Preble County Honor Guard providing military honors.
