Dale Gene Thompson

Dale Gene Thompson, age 76, of West Alexandria, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on March 13, 1948 in Kenton, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Hamer and Virginia Ruth (Long) Thompson. Dale was a Computer Programing Analyst for CSC in Dayton. He was a 1966 Twin Valley North High School graduate, served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam where he earned numerous certificates of accomplishment and held an associate degree in business administration. He loved candy crush, computer games, Sudoku and loved to collect numerous cherished items. He was an avid sports fan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a Brother: Hamer Kay Thompson, Step-Daughter: Darcia Nichole Baker.

Survived by his Wife of 38 years: Ethel I. (Schleiger) Thompson; Son: Gene L. (Lindsi K. Wells) Thompson; Daughter: Desma T. (Kevin M. Hicks) Evans; Siblings: Lila Ruth Adamson, Nympha Jane Grill, Vera Faye Craig, Norma Irene (Robert) Henderson, and Loyal L. (Patt) Thompson; Sister-in-law: Sandy Thompson; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one due in June. Many Nieces and Nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio. A Celebration of Life and Entombment will be held at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, Brookville, Ohio.
