Clayton L. O'Hara

CLAYTON L. O'HARA, age 94 formerly of Eaton, OH died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Otterbein in Middletown, OH. Born on May 20, 1918 in Campbellstown, OH, son of the late John W. & Virgie L. (Flora) O'Hara. Clayton was a 1935 Jackson High School Graduate and received his Bachelor Degree in 1949 from Earlham College. In 1959, Clayton received his Master's Degree in Education from Miami University. Clayton was a teacher at Dixon School from 1949 to 1953 and at Dayton City Schools from 1953 to 1975. Life Member of NEA and Life Member OEA. Member of Richmond Photography Club and taught Photography & Biology. 60 year member and Past Master of Bolivar Lodge #82 F&AM. Member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, Ohio. Member of Shriners International. Clayton served in the Ohio State National Guard in Eaton, OH for many years. Member of Campbellstown United Church of Christ. He worked with the Ohio State Highway Department for many years and after retirement was an avid bicyclist. Clayton was a Charter Member of High Twelve Sebring #592; an active member in Various Camping Clubs and was a Boy Scout Leader in Jackson Township. Clayton was also a Bee Keeper.

Preceded by brother, Rev. Heber O'Hara; sisters, Mabel Hitt and Ruth Paddack.

Survived by wife of 73 years, Janis I. (Kinner) O'Hara; daughters, Barbara (Dave) Cox of Eaton, OH and Kathy Posey of Richmond, IN; son, Bob (Diane) O'Hara of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, David Cox, Dan Cox, Susan (John) Gosz, Janis O'Hara, Michael Sorah and Karen Sorah; great grandchildren, Alexander Gosz and Riley Bridges; step grandchildren, Jason(Amy) Posey and Jeff(Christina) Posey; step great grandchildren, Mara, Claire, Chase, Maddie and Matt Posey.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Campbellstown United Church of Christ, 2890 West Florence Campbellstown Rd., Eaton, Ohio 45320 with Rev. Randall Harvey officiating. Family will receive friends following the service at the church on Saturday.
