Charma Harris

Charma Harris, age 84, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday morning, January 17, 2012 at the home of her daughter in West Manchester, Ohio. She was born September 10, 1927 in Highland County, Ohio to the late Samuel & Ara (McConnaugh) Soales. On July 11, 1945 in Highland County, she married Walter L. Harris, Sr, who passed away October 8, 1983.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her son- John Harris; 2 grandsons- Robert Harris & Dale Harris; 2 brothers- Kenneth Soales & Sam Soales; & 3 sisters- Homerine Swift, Jane Hamilton, & Mary Matlack.

Surviving family members are her 2 daughters- Betsy (David) Coning, West Manchester, & Ruth Ann (Red) Rutledge, Shelbyville, KY; 4 sons- Walter Harris Jr, Greenfield, OH, Tim Harris, Wilmington, Ernie (Jewel) Harris, Greenfield, & Patrick (Patrice) Harris, Lumberton; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces & nephews.

The Charma Harris Family would like to thank all the friends that their mother met on the bike trail and on Mulberry Street while she was patrolling the area behind her apartment on Spring Street in Wilmington, Ohio. We are grateful and thankful for your friendship and kindness to our mother. We are sorry to say she passed away.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, 97 West Locust Street at North Mulberry Street, Wilmington. Pastor Mike McCormick officiating. Interment will follow in the Clinton County Memory Gardens, Wilmington. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
