Charlotte Elizabeth (Nelson) Starr

Charlotte Elizabeth (Nelson) Starr, 87 of Mason, passed away on August 27, 2022. Born to Willard K and Ethel M (nee Mulnix) Nelson on May 25, 1935, in New Paris, Ohio. Charlotte was a graduate of Jefferson Twp High School, class of 1953, where she was a cheerleader. Charlotte was married to the love of her life for 67 years. Charlotte was a kind, loving, and quick-witted women. She was pleasant to be around and loved to entertain. Charlotte was an avid reader, a fantastic cook and both her and Byron enjoyed ballroom dancing. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. They retired to Edgewater, Florida where they lived for 25 years enjoying the warm weather and socializing with friends. Charlotte was very involved in the community and served on various boards and committees. 

Preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Ethel Nelson, her husband, Byron Starr and brothers, Richard K Nelson, and Philip M Nelson. 

Charlotte is survived by her three children, Gary Starr, Mark (Cynthia) Starr and Elizabeth (Chris) Koob, eight grandchildren, Jessica (Todd), Garett, Lynise, Winston, Mason, Marissa, Audrey, and Tara, one great granddaughter, Scarlett, two sisters, Dorothy Brown and Kristine Vaughn and many nieces and nephews. 

Inurnment will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Arrangements entrusted to Mueller Funeral Home, Mason, Ohio and Barnes Funeral Home, New Paris, Ohio.
