Charles R. Ward

CHARLES R. WARD, age 68 of Middletown, Ohio, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 23, 2007. Born on May 5, 1939 in Hamilton, Ohio, Charlie was the son of the late Charles & Nannie (Maggard) Ward. He graduated from Camden High School in 1957. He retired from Appleton Papers after 35 years of service and was a member of the Camden Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He attended Friendship Baptist Church in Miamisburg, Ohio. Charlie was an avid bass fisherman, loved camping, and designed and built his own house.

Preceded in death by his brother: Emery Ward in 1984; sister: Dee Chandler in 2005.

Survived by his wife of 19 years: Sherrill A. Ward of Middletown, Ohio; children: Kenneth R. (Jennifer L.) Ward of Dayton, Ohio, Daniel S. Ward of Fairfield, Ohio, Kathryn D. (Timothy R.) Gaiser of Miamisburg, Ohio, and William G. Stiehl of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren: Christopher (Amanda) Ward of Fishers, Indiana, Nathaniel (Mary) Ward of Greensboro, North Carolina, Shelby Gaiser and Clayton Gaiser both of Miamisburg, Ohio; great grandchild: Cooper Ward of Fishers, Indiana; former wife: Melva K. Ward of Oxford, Ohio; special friend: Art Fields of Carlisle, Ohio and numerous friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Nein - Barnes Funeral Home - 249 North Main Street - Camden, Ohio, with Rev. Michael Miracle officiating. Internment will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at the funeral home.
