CHARLES EMERSON “Ernie” LOY, age 86, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Saturday July 24, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Born on December 17, 1917 at Lewisburg, Ohio, son of the late Ernest H. and Bessie (Bittle) Loy. He was a 1935 graduate of Lewisburg High School; Army veteran of WWII and played for the New York Giants Minor League Baseball team at Kingsport, TN. for 3 years; Member Lewisburg United Methodist Church and American Legion of Lewisburg; Former member Lewisburg Fire Department and four term Trustee of Harrison Township; Retired in 2000 as co-owner and operator of Loy’s Auto Body Shop and had operated Loy’s Dari Twist since 1967 both of Lewisburg, Ohio. Preceded in death by Brother: Billy E. Loy in 1998 and a sister: Hilda Leggett in l996.

Survivors: Wife of 56 Years: Miriam D. (Detling) Loy. Son: Eric E. Loy of Lewisburg, Ohio. Daughter: Debra Loy of Lewisburg, Ohio. Sister: Olivia Early of Pyrmont, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. (Ohio Time) Wednesday July 28, 2004 at Barnes Funeral Home - 411 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev Michael Pratt officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00P.M. till 1:00P.M. (Ohio Time) at the funeral home.
