Charles Brockman, age 79, of New Paris, Ohio died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN after an extended illness. Born on December 10, 1926 in Wayne County, IN he was the son of the late Robert & Gracie (Callahan) Brockman. Charles had worked at Avco Corporation in Richmond for 30 years and retired in 1980 from American Aggregates in Richmond. He attended Friendship Community Church in New Paris and was a member of the Son’s of the American Legion of New Paris; Moose Lodge and Eagles Lodge both of Richmond, IN. Preceded in death by his wife of 52 years: Edith B. Brockman in 2002; Son-in-law: Clinnie R. Bach in 2004; Brothers: Eddie Brockman, William Carlos Brockman, Otis Brockman and George Lenard Brockman. Sister: Julia Brockman.

Survived by Sons & daughters-in-law: Charles David & Susan Brockman of Williamsburg, IN, James Edward & Debbie Brockman of New Paris, OH; Daughters & Sons-in-law: Brenda & Bill Curee of Dry Ridge, KY; Catherine Ann & Jesse Lear of Richmond, IN and Joyce Irene Bach of North Augusta, SC; Brothers: Fred Brockman of Manchester, KY; Erskin Brockman and Fletcher Brockman both of Richmond, IN; Sisters: Vernie Marie Campbell and Lucille King both of Richmond, IN and Wanda Reed of Grandview Mountain, TN. Grandchildren: Robert Daniel Brockman, Darla Sue Paul, Terry Lee Lear, Cynthia Lynn Knox, Lisa Koren Brockman, Dana Renee Boatwright, Angela Christine Hilton, Jessica Ann Whited, Tyler Brockman, James Brockman Jr.; David Michael Lear, Joshua Brown, Michael Brown, Frank Esposito, Clinnie Ray Bach Jr., Sharon Preston and Karen Preston; 30 Great Grandchildren; several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 - 11:00 am at Barnes Funeral Home -109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Pastor Clarence Brockman officiating. Family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Springlawn Cemetery, New Paris, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 360 - 407 North Washington Street - New Paris, OH 45347.
