Charles A. Mitchell, Jr.

Charles A. Mitchell, Jr., 77 of Eaton, Ohio, formerly of New Paris, Ohio died Thursday, February 24, 2022 in Farmland, Indiana. Born on November 22, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Charles A. & Lillie Alice (Combs) Mitchell, Sr. Mr. Mitchell had worked at the Kroger in Richmond, Indiana and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris and loved to fish, watch stock car racing, demolition derby, tractor pulls and best of all he cherished looking after his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his Daughter: Krista Michelle Jones in 2019.

Survived by his Wife of 57 years: Carol J. (Weist) Mitchell; Children: Steven A. & Tracey Mitchell and Cassandra Sue Clark & partner: Torey Palmer; Son-in-law: Wayne Alan Jones; Grandchildren: Savannah, Anthony, Abby, Brooke, Elijah, Kayden, Julie and Ricky. Great Grandchild: Onyx and 6 Step Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with his grandson Elijah Hughes and Pastor Ron Wilson officiating. Military honors will be held by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
