Charles A. Manning

CHARLES A. MANNING, 76, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died suddenly, Thursday, August 21, 2008 at his residence. He was born on August 29, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Willis and Hilda (Herzel) Manning. He was a Korean War Veteran with the United States Marine Corp. where he received two purple hearts. He was a Fire Marshall with Chrysler in Dayton for 30 years, loved the outdoors, motorcycle riding and reading and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg. He is preceded in death by his son, Tyree O Manning in 1982.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louise I. (Palmer) Manning; daughters & son-in-law, Shawn O & David Girard of Beavercreek, Ohio and Stacy O Manning and Steve Hogue both of Lewisburg; son & daughter-in-law, Shayne O & Alleen Manning of Indian Hill, Ohio; brother & sister-in-law, Frank & Sally Manning of Oregon; grandchildren, Uriah Garwood, Ashley Pizzo, Brad Girard, Anthony Pizzo, Michelle Girard and Michaela Manning and great grandson, Garrett Hutchison; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 511 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. Brent L. Cavendish officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, August 25, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Inurnment with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg at the convenience of the family.
