Carol J. Mitchell

Carol J. Mitchell, 78 of Eaton, Ohio, formerly of New Paris, Ohio died Friday, April 4, 2025 at Vancrest of Eaton. Born on April 29, 1946 in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Louis W. and Blanche (Null) Weist.

Carol worked at Target in Richmond for 25 years and EMT in Eaton. She was a 1964 graduate of Eaton High School and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris.

Preceded in death by her Husband: Charles A. Mitchell, Jr. in 2022; Daughter: Krista Michelle Jones in 2019; Siblings: Kenneth R. Weist, Isabelle Harris, Treva Kreider, Ralph E. Weist, Francis M. Weist, Lowell R. Weist, Howard W. Weist and Gail A. Weist.

Survived by her Children: Steven A. & Tracey Mitchell and Cassandra Sue Clark & partner: Torey Palmer; Son-in-law: Wayne Alan Jones; Grandchildren: Savannah (Cody), Anthony, Abby, Brooke, Elijah, Kayden, Julie and Ricky. Great Grandchildren: Onyx, Bentley and Lincoln and 6 Step Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with her grandson Elijah Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
