Carl E. Slater, Iii

Carl E. Slater III (CJ), age 31 of Eldorado, OH, died, Sunday, April 2, 2017 at his residence from a drug overdose. CJ was born on January 10, 1986 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of Carl E. and Lena A. (Rogers) Slater, Jr. He was a graduate of Tri-County North High School in Lewisburg, OH. CJ was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State. He loved to bowl, play baseball and coached little league baseball in Middletown, OH. CJ was a shadetree mechanic which he learned from his Grandpa Rogers and was a previous employee of Mikesell & Associates where he was a Supervisor/Floor Technician. There wasn't a roller coaster he was afraid of, especially at Kings Island. CJ loved the outdoors, but most of all he loved his family. You could even say he was a momma's boy. He had many names that everyone called him. Uncle J, Jay Jay and best of all Sadie. Preceded in death by his father: Carl E. Slater, Jr. in 2011; maternal grandparents: Herbert & Artis Rogers; Paternal grandparents: Carl E. and Marjorie Slater, Sr.; Aunt & Uncles: Zelda & Craig Schutte and Lora & Glenn (Louie) Little.

Survivors include: mother: Lena A. Slater and her fiancé Bud Roscoe of Eaton, OH; daughter: Shyanne M. Slater of Eaton, OH; brother: Christopher Gregory & girlfriend: Shenna Falin of Eaton, OH; sister: Shana M. Slater of Eaton, OH; Aunts: Adena (Mom #2) Rogers of Eaton, OH; Jennifer & Ed Martin of Eaton, OH; Linda Teal of Hamilton, OH; Stella Marcum of Eaton, OH; Maryanne Slater of Ohio; Linda Fox of Texas; Barbara & Larry Brummet of OH; uncles: Michael Slater of Ohio and Lonnie Rogers of Hamilton, OH. Numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle J with all their hearts. Numerous cousins who he was their best friend.

Please be aware of what this monster drug can do to not only you, but also how it affects your family forever. Please seek help for yourself, your family member or a friend before you should go through what we, CJ's family, have gone through. The tears will be flowing for a very long time for our family. It must stop before we lose a whole generation of kids.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home 220 East Main Street Eaton, OH. The funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M.
