C. Cyril Rice

C. CYRIL RICE, age 94, of Lewisburg, OH, died Monday, November 8, 2004 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Born on October 15, 1910 in Verona, OH, he was the son of the late Royal Waldo & Mable Mae(Clark) Rice. He was a 1928 graduate of Verona High School and was in the Military Police with the U.S. Army during W.W. II. A farmer until 1994 he had also worked for 30 years at Frigidaire until 1970 and was a mail carrier from 1970 to 1976. Faithful member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church; Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio-Libanus Lodge #80 of Lewisburg; Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio-Past High Priest of Palmyra Chapter # 235 of Brookville, OH; Grand Council Royal and Select Masons of Ohio-Preble Council # 135; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Dayton; Antioch Temple of Dayton and Order of Eastern Star-Ideal Chapter # 293 of Lewisburg. He is preceded in death by his wife: Ruth K.(Kellis) Rice and brother: Donald E. Rice.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Lewisburg United Methodist Church- 200 West Dayton St.- Lewisburg, OH with Rev. Michael D. Pratt officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery- Lewisburg, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Barnes Funeral Home- 411 North Commerce St.- Lewisburg, OH. Masonic Services will be held at 6:45 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Lewisburg United Methodist Church-Building Fund- P.O. Box 7- Lewisburg, OH 45338.
