Bryan Ray Hoke, age 58, of Lewisburg, OH, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Maria Joseph Care Center. He was born at Wright Patterson Air Force Base on July 4, 1966, to his loving parents Clarence Hoke, Jr. of Phillipsburg, OH and Kathleen Mae (Schaefer) Hoke of Verona, OH.
Bryan attended Tri-County North High School and CTC in the class of 1985. Thereafter, he served in the Marines before returning home to Lewisburg. Bryan was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Lewisburg, OH. He loved hiking, camping, fishing and being in nature. He was a photographer, gamer and enjoyed working on cars.
Bryan had a wonderful, dry sense of humor and shared it generously. It’s the characteristic most attributed to him by his family, friends and the caregivers he was close to in his later life. He was intelligent, kind, introverted and brought a lot of joy to those around him. He is, and will continue to be missed.
In addition to his parents, Bryan is preceded by his son, Joshua Redmond and step-sister Angela (Kirby) Gales.
He is survived by son Kris Priest, of Richmond, IN; son Justin Wissinger, of Brookville, OH; grandchildren; sister Stacey (Hoke) Wirrig and brother-in-law Steven Wirrig; stepmother Sandra Hoke; stepbrother James Kirby; stepsister Amy Robinnette; nephew Henry Wirrig; and niece Marin Wirrig. Bryan also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care and support provided to Bryan by the staff at The Cottages of Clayton and Maria Joseph Care Center. Very special thank you to cousin Donna (Schaefer) Ruff for her care, love, and support of Bryan.
A celebration of life open house will be held 2:00-5:00pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at The Barrel Room, 1475 Xenia Ave. Yellow Springs, Ohio 45387. “Let children walk with Nature, let them see the beautiful blendings and communions of death and life, their joyous inseparable unity.” - John Muir
