Bonita Gay (Fannin) Robbins was born November 6, 1935 in Morgan County Kentucky, and passed May 20, 2017 in Dayton, Ohio. August 18, 1951, she married Vannon Evert Robbins, and from that marriage came nine children, eighteen grandchildren and nineteen (and counting) great grandchildren, which shows that at the center of her life was always family. For Gay there was no such thing as "extended" family or friends of family, once you met her, you were family. She was the cornerstone of the family, the glue that held all the pieces together, no matter how far they moved away or what waters passed under her bridge. She was often referred to as "the strongest woman I know". She endured quietly and always put others first.
Her passions included genealogy, sewing and quilting, reading, antiques, garage sales, bluegrass and Bingo (lots and lots of Bingo), but her true joy was in doing these things with and for her family. She will be missed by a great many for a great many things including her cooking, her humor, her support, but most of all for her spirit.
She leaves behind her children Bonnie (Steve) Scott, Debra (Bob) Brill, Connie Aikman, Bert (Jack) Getter, Sylvia (Mike) Landis, Bev (Jim) Hargis, Bud (Robin) Robbins, Randy (Bev) Robbins, Jeff (Tracy) Robbins, 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, her sisters Freda Hale of Germantown, Ohio, Cleo Lewis of Middletown, Ohio, Genevie Robbins of Cedarville, Ohio, and Phyllis Stidham of Georgetown, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Vannon Evert Robbins, her father Wayne Fannin, her mother Louella Peyton Fannin, and two sisters Letha Perry and Deloris Engels.
Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, OH. The funeral Service will be 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Peterson officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg.
