Betty L. Shepherd

Betty L. Shepherd, age 84 of Eaton, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2021.  Born on June 1, 1937 in Salem, Indiana, daughter of the late, Nelson & Belva Louise (Gilstrap) Johnson. 

Betty retired in 1993 after 20 years as a clerk at Kroger in Miamisburg, Ohio.  Member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Eaton, Ohio.  She loved all children, not just hers but the ones in church and community as well. 

Preceded by her husband of 52 years, James G. “Jim” Shepherd; infant daughter; daughter, Rhonda Louise Johnson; granddaughter, Katherine Hall; brother, Steven Nelson Johnson; sisters, Patricia Johnson, Georgia Johnson, Connie Lee Johnson, Delores Jean Johnson, Carol Sue Comley, Cheryl Louise Johnson and Shirley Ann Gentry; son-in-law, Mark Taulbee. 

Survived by her children, Paul Roy Shepherd of Eaton, Ohio, Wade "Kevin" Shepherd of Aberdeen, Ohio, Patricia M. Hall of West Alexandria, Ohio, Nathaniel "Keith" & Terri Shepherd of Eaton, Ohio and Elizabeth E. Taulbee of Morgantown, Kentucky; sister, Dorothy June (George) Jackson of Florida; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, December 17, 2021 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Ben Myers officiating.  Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery at Gratis, Ohio.  Family will receive friends on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. prior to funeral.
