Betty Jo Dees

Betty Jo Dees, age 71, of New Paris, Ohio, died Saturday, August 5, 2006 at her residence. Born on August 31, 1934 in Soldier, KY she was the daughter of the late Burl & Celesta (Tate) Smith. Betty retired in 1996 after 35 years of service with the Richmond Baking Company. She was a member of the Gospel Baptist Church of New Paris and Bakery & Confectionery Workers Local # 372B of Richmond. Preceded in death by Sister: Justine Feaselman in 1996.

Survivors: Husband of 54 years: Raleigh Dees; Sons & Daughters -In-Law: Marlin & Teresa Dees of Fountain City, IN and Gerold & Aline Dees of New Paris, OH. Sisters: Hazel Goins of New Paris, OH, Ithel Reed and Reva Cull both of Richmond, IN, Arlene Jenkins of Lexington, KY, Janet Moore of Trotwood, OH and Earlene Wandersee of Centerville, IN; Brother: Carl Smith of Centerville, IN; Grandchildren: Christina Hopkins, Diane Dees, Jerame Dees and Coty Smith; Great Grandchildren: Cassidy Hopkins, Joshua Hopkins, Garrett Meade and Norman Logan Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 - 12:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Gilmer Smith officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2006 one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
