Betty Jean Captain

Betty Jean (Hood) Captain, age 85, of Lynchburg, Highland Co., OH and formerly of New Paris, OH, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 11, 2015. Betty was born on December 17, 1929 in Richmond, IN, she was the daughter of the late Lewis & Blanche (Bradley) Hood. Betty had worked at Belden Corp. in Richmond, IN for many years as a Coil & spool handler before retiring. Member of Northview Baptist Church in Hillsboro, OH.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Captain in 1980; daughters, Linda Ely and Sheryl Robinson.

Survived by son & daughter-in-law, Ralph & Brandy Captain of Lynchburg, OH; sisters-in-law, Betty Cressell, Ruby Hood and Loretta Captain; brother, Robert Hood; grandchildren, Ralph Michael Captain, Nicholas Captain, Hailey Captain, John Doolin, Brad Doolin, Carrie Voiles, Joey Ely and Michelle Meath; great grandchildren, Nikia Captain, Taeya Captain, Alivia Captain, Shawn Ely, Ryan Ely, Josh Meath, Jordan Meath, Noah Phillips, Jason Phillips, Ashton Voiles, Isaac Doolin, Joshua Doolin, Peyton Doolin and Hayley Doolin.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, OH with Rev. Jeff Griffin officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at the funeral home in New Paris, OH.
