Bessie E. Brower

BESSIE "ELEANORA" BROWER, 89, of Alexandria, VA and formerly of Farmersville, OH, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 in Annandale, VA. Born on December 21, 1918 in Bethel Twp., Miami County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Roy & Effie (Casson) Shingledecker. She was a long time resident of Farmersville and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Germantown, OH. She loved life, people, sewing and was a wonderful positive person. Preceded in death by Husband of 69 years: John J. "Jake" Brower, Sr. in 2006. Daughter: Kathleen Hopkins; Sons: John J. Brower, Jr. and Marvin Brower; Sisters: Mabel "Marie" Staup, Jessie Jamison, Rosa Shingledecker and Catherine Helmer; Brothers: Percy "PR", Herbert, Russell, Carl & Luther Shingledecker.

She is survived by her Daughter: Gayle A. Toth, Alexandria, VA; 10 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Numerous Brothers & Sister-in-laws, Nieces, Nephews & Cousins.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 - 11:30 a.m. at Barnes Funeral Home - 411 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rebecca Lodge Service at 11:00 a.m.
