Bernerd H. "Bud" Hannah

Bernerd H. "Bud" Hannah, 65, of Englewood, OH, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Victory Ridge at Lakeside Manor at the VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH. Born on December 24, 1948 in Mount Gay, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Nealy B. & Martha M. (Wright) Hannah.

Bud retired in 1983 after 18 years with General Motors in Dayton. He was awarded the Purple Heart having served in Vietnam as Crew Chief 1969 – 1970 – B. Battery 2/20th 1st Cavalry, current Commander for the State of Ohio for Military Order of the Purple Heart, American Legion #707 and VFW of Englewood, OH, member of the Millennium Lodge #0779 F & A.M. of Dayton, Order of the Eastern Star – Victory Chapter #594. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Niece: Julie Ann Spencer and Nephew: Jeffrey Hannah.

Survivors include his Wife of 43 years: Barbara (Spencer) Hannah; Brother & Sister-in-law: James G. Sr. & Nancy L. Hannah, Lewisburg, OH; 2 Sisters, Nephews: James Hannah, Josh Kenyon, Stephen and David Shindeldecker, Niece: Fawn Kenyon. Special Friends: Paul Harlow and Bill McDaniels.

The family would like to thank the staff of the VA Hospice Unit for their comfort and care.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria. Family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
