Barbara A. Hollar

Barbara A. (Smith) Hollar, age 86 of New Paris, Ohio went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 8, 2023, at her residence. Born on March 6, 1937, in McKee, Ky the daughter of the late John & Ella (Townsend) Smith. Barbara enjoyed being outdoors, riding motorcycles all over the United States. She loved her flowers and walking in the New Paris cemetery. She was a member of the ladies of Harley Hog Club of Richmond, IN. She showed Norwegian Elk Hounds with her husband that were champions. She also loved to model at the Cancer Survivors Style Show every year, Bluegrass music and went to a lot of Bluegrass festivals through the years. She loved her life, her friends and living in New Paris.

Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years in 2016: Dan R. “Danny” Hollar, son-in-law: Robin Ault in 2022.

Barbara’s family includes her daughter, Roni Ault of New Paris, OH; son, Clint Hollar of New Paris, OH; grandson, Cody Hollar; brothers: Coleman Smith of Richmond, IN and George Smith of Virginia.

Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, Ohio. The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Rodney Dunn officiating. Interment will be held at Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris.
