B. Darrell Newkirk

B. Darrell Newkirk, 71, of Eaton, Ohio, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, OH. Born on July 18, 1938 in Eaton, OH he was the son of the late Benjamin F. & Ruth H. (Marquis) Newkirk. Darrell was a 1956 Eaton High School graduate and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. He retired in 1998 from General Motors and currently employed at Lee Plastic in Eaton. Member of the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion Post 215 both of Eaton. Preceded in death by a step-son: Michael Maddock in 1996.

Survived by his wife: Martha J. (Webb) Newkirk; Step-Daughter: Melanie Cottingim of Eaton, OH; Step-son: Tim L. Maddock of Eaton, OH; Brothers: Francis Newkirk; John Newkirk, Sr.; and Robert L. Boerner all of Eaton, OH; J.D. Newkirk of Florida and Tim Newkirk of Arkansas. Grandchildren: Kristin & Brandon Cottingim; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 28, 2010 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
