ARTHUR BROWER SHAW, age 87 formerly of Aukerman Street, Eaton, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 21, 1997 at Greenbrier Nursing Center in Eaton after an extended illness. Born on November 15, 1909 in Fairhaven, Preble County, Ohio, he was the son of Walter Lee & Vera Ethel (Brower) Shaw. He retired December 31, 1978 as the "Meter Man" for the Eaton Police Department; worked for the State of Ohio at the scales on I 70 and was also employed at Barnes Funeral Homes, Inc.; a 1928 graduate of Camden High School; He had farmed in Gasper and Dixon Townships for many years and was owner/operator of Shaw Seed Service for over 40 years; a former Township Trustee 1944 - 1951 of Gasper Township; Dixon Township Grange; Preble County Farm Bureau Discussion Group and member of Concord United Church of Christ.

Survivors: Wife of 61 years Reba May (Charles) Shaw; Daughter & Son in law: Sharon J. & Robert C. Barnes, Eaton, OH; Grandchildren & Spouse: Brian R. & Erin M. Barnes, Lewisburg, OH; Stephen A. & Lori R. Barnes, Brookville, OH; Great Grandchildren: Matthew B. & Christina D. Barnes, Lewisburg, OH; Logan P. Barnes, Brookville, OH; Cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 1997 - 2:00 p.m. at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Richard VanTine officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 1997 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad or Concord United Church of Christ.
