Anthony Jay Shumaker

ANTHONY JAY "TONY" SHUMAKER, age 56, of Richmond, Indiana, died Monday, September 21, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Richmond, Indiana. Born on September 23, 1952 in Richmond, Indiana, he was the son of Edwin & Gloria Sue (Lipps) Shumaker. Tony graduated from New Madison High School in 1971. Tony had worked for several years at Champion Target in Richmond, Indiana. He enjoyed his time as a "cowboy" in Montana for several years.

Preceded in death by father, Edwin Shumaker in 1974; step father, James E. "Jim" Juday in 2009.

Survived by his mother, Gloria Sue Juday of New Paris, Ohio; brother, Kem E. Shumaker of Eaton, Ohio; sister & brother-in-law, Dixie J. & Jerry Gabbard of Richmond, Indiana; step sister, Jeryl A. Sims of New Paris, Ohio; girlfriend, Tammy Creech of Richmond, Indiana; nieces & nephews, Joshua Sims, Amy Gabbard and Jason Gabbard; many cousins, numerous close friends and his beloved dogs, Walter and Zena.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Joe Watkins officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009. Interment will be held in Otterbein Cemetery near New Madison, Ohio at the convenience of the family.
