Albert J. Michael

Albert J. Michael, age 91 of Eaton, Ohio, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at Greenbrier Nursing Center in Eaton, OH. Born on June 23, 1917 in Ashland, Ohio the son of the late Albert J. & Mary (Mowrey) Michael, Sr. He was a U.S. Army W.W. II veteran receiving the Purple Heart for combat injuries in North Africa; member of 1st Armored Division Association - Sunshine Chapter of Florida; VFW Post of Eaton; American Legion Post 215 of Eaton; avid golfer member of Eaton Country Club and past president; St. Paul United Methodist Church; Bolivar Lodge # 82 and Grand Lodge of F. & A. M. of Ohio; Scottish Rite - Valley of Dayton and Shriners of North America. Along with his wife Betty Jane, they founded Eaton Supply Company in 1955 and retired in 1983. Preceded in death by his first wife: Betty Jane (Groff) Michael in 1992.

Albert is survived by his wife: Mary L. (Scearcy) Bissett Michael of Eaton, OH; Daughters & son-in-law: Melinda & Gordon McLaughlin of Eaton, OH; Vicki & Richard King of Bellbrook, OH; Son & Daughter-In-Law: Larry A. & Joan Bissett of Morgantown, WV; Brother: Robert Michael of Daytona Beach, FL; Grandchildren: Brian A. McLaughlin of Eaton, OH, Cheryl King of Maui, HI, Nathan King of Denver, CO and Trisha King of Gulfport, MS; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Wayne D. Morrison officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, OH with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with Masonic Services 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
