Ada Mae Owens

Ada Mae Owens, age 86, of New Paris, Ohio, died on Monday, September 5, 2011 at her residence. Born on April 15, 1925 in Waco, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Rollie & Ethel (Brookshire) Scrivner.

Ada retired in 1982 after several years as a housekeeper of the Siesta Hotel in Eaton, Ohio. She had also worked as a cook at the Blue Note restaurant during the late 1960's and 1970's and at the Wernle Children's Home in Richmond, Indiana during the 1950's.

Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Clyde Owens in 1975; brother, Tracy Scrivner; sister, Marie Miller and special friend, Garth Mullin.

Survived by her son, Richard Allen Owens of New Paris, Ohio.

Funeral Service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, Ohio with Pastor Rodney Shelley officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., prior to the funeral at the funeral home in New Paris on Thursday.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2011 in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
