Carolyn Jean Shepherd

Carolyn J. Shepherd, 81 of Eaton, Ohio died Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. Born on March 19, 1940, in Richmond, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Harold C. & Norma (Campbell) McDivitt. Carolyn was the owner/operator of Carolyn Shepherd Realty, Inc. in Eaton. She was a 1958 graduate of Jackson Township High School in Preble County. Carolyn received her real estate training through the University of Dayton and further training through night classes conducted by Lee Miles. In 1978 she joined Chum Realty in New Paris, Ohio and transferred her license in 1979 to Wentzell Realty. In February 1985 she opened Carolyn Shepherd Realty in Eaton. Member of Concord Church and former member of Eaton United Church of Christ. She was choir director at both churches and loved to play the piano and the organ. Former member of the New Paris Order of the Eastern Star No. 310. She has worked on the American Cancer Society fund drive and is a Past President of the Preble County Board of Realtors.

Survived by her Husband of 48 years: Donald C. Shepherd; Sons: Jim and John (Nola) Dudas; Stepdaughter: Shananne (Daryl) Middleton; Grandchildren: Jessica (RJ) Schreiber, Chaz (Heather) Dudas and Jordan Dudas; Great Grandchildren: Derek, Braylen, Kinley and Wes.

Private Funeral Service will be held at convenience of the family with interment in Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Arrangements Entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, Eaton, Ohio.
